Narcolepsy is a rare sleep disorder that disrupts the sleep-wake cycle

Symptoms of Narcolepsy:

  • Excessive Daytime Sleepiness: This is where you repeatedly fall asleep throughout the day. It can feel like an irresistible urge to fall asleep. 
  • Cataplexy: Loss of muscle tone/muscle weakness on strong emotion such as laughter.
  • Sleep Paralysis & Hypnagogic Hallucinations: Sleep paralysis is where a person is awake but unable to move their body or able to talk. Usually accompanied with hallucinations such as seeing that someone is in your room. 
  • Disrupted Night Time Sleep: People with narcolepsy have extremely broken sleep, usually waking up every couple of hours
  • Nightmares: Vivid and frightening nightmares. Weighted blankets can really help with this. Check the best deals here.
